Christmas time is drawing near
A time of happiness and cheer
With gifts around the Christmas tree
And food galore and folks to see
But don’t forget this is the day
A child was born so far away
A special child, son of our God
Within a stable, near the sod
Three wise men rode so very far
Guided by a single star
Bringing gifts of special might
To herald in this blessed sight
The shepherds out among their flock
Were frozen solid like a rock
With fear, for they had never seen
A chorus of the angels sing
To tell the story of the birth
A heaven’s child upon the earth
Among the donkeys and the lambs
As was proclaimed across the land
That one with such a lowly start
Would have the brightest, purest, heart
To challenge all the knowledge then
Known to kings and noblemen
So don’t forget along the way
The reason for this blessed day
To celebrate the gentle birth
Of the greatest miracle on earth.
Mark that was a great poem…it really captured what so many lose sight of on Christmas…thanks
